Blakelands lake is set at the southern end of Dove Meadow and covers approx. three quarters of an acre, originally covering a much larger area, most of the more southernly part was filled in by the Air Ministry during the construction of Bobbington Airfield (Now Wolverhampton Airport).

When John Morgan bought Blakelands in 1981 much of what remained of the lake was covered in reeds and was barely a couple of feet deep due to silt build up over the years. Throughout 1982 & into 1983 John set about restoring the lake & following heavy work with diggers & other machinery cleared and deepened the lake.
The lake was restocked in 1983 with 160 Golden Rudd, Mirror, Grass, King & Common Carp.
Now with fish stocks succesfully breeding and well into the hundreds the lake is open to the public on Day tickets and provides a very good beginners lake as well as a great challenge to more experienced anglers with mature carp well into double figures and some 15lb plus fish.
The Lake is open Tuesday to Sunday (closed mondays) from June 16th & closes to observe the closed season in march. Weekends are day ticket @ £10.00 per peg (two rods per peg allowed) Weekdays are day ticket @ £6.00 per peg (two rods per peg allowed)
